How To Apply Affidavit of Support for UAE Visit Visa

29 days to go and my family will be here in UAE for 12 days vacation. Applying a visa takes 2 days process but getting the affidavit of support is little bit difficult and i was tempted not to take as i don’t want to go through the process but i can’t afford my sister to be offloaded if ever.

So, what was the process? Getting the affidavit of support is so easy. Before you visit the Philippine Consulate just make sure below documents are with you;

Documents needed from your side (if you are the one who is sponsoring his/her stay)

1. Salary certificate (2 copies)– must be in english, salary must be above 3500aed
2. Passport (2 copies)
3. Residence visa (2 copies)
4. Tenancy contract/hotel booking (2 copies)– whew! a new requirement, previously they are not asking for it, good thing i have a tenancy contract with me. Or anyway if you are just renting a room and you don’t have a tenancy contract, you can book a refundable hotel from booking.com or any hotel website to fulfill this requirement.
5.  birth certificate (2 copies)– good thing is i still have a copy of my birth certificate, it was stated on the requirement that you must present the original but thanks God they accepted the xerox copy (not colored hahahah)
6. Tourist Visa (2 copies)– visa from agency
7. duly signed affidavit of support and guarantee– you can download it online and fill up ahead of time but actually it’s no use, because the lady at the counter obliged me to get a form from reception and fill it up manually

Documents needed from the side of person who wish to visit are below

1. passport copy (2 copies)
2. birth certificate (2 copies)

It was my first time to apply affidavit of support and guarantee at  Philippine Embassy Abu Dhabi. I know i will go through a long que, so before the embassy open at 8:00am, i went there around 7:30AM and i was fifth on the line. I was little bit impressed with the service because there is a systematic queuing system and the lady guard is strict on telling those people who didn’t follow the system.

Exactly 8:00AM the window is open. They gave a token number and in fairness they have digital display if it’s your turn to go the counter hahahah so i guess that’s the improvement. So it takes 30 minutes of my time to complete the process including queuing at the cashier counter. I paid 100aed for one affidavit of support and guarantee and it takes 7 working days before it will be released. I applied today April 7, 2016 and they will released it on April 14, 2017.

So the whole process is quick and easy.
